When I wanted to start making model railroad scenery years ago I read all the magazines and books I could find. Many of them recommended making scenery with a base of things like chicken wire. But I couldn’t come close to molding hills and mountains the way they were supposed to be. I learned a lot – mostly what didn’t work for me. I got so frustrated I stopped trying.
Then I started experimenting and through trial and error I found a system that is much easier and just as realistic. It’s good for model railroad train lay-outs. It’s good for dioramas. It’s just good. It’s much easier. And fun!
Subsequently, I’ve made model railroad train layouts and I’ve sold a number of scenic dioramas. Many more of my dioramas now sit in a museum.
Most of them have been inspired by my travels and others by the places I’ve actually lived – places like North Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Washington State, Arkansas and Colorado.
So come share in my travels and the step-by-step way to make incredibly realistic scenery for model railroads and museum quality dioramas.
