Old CANS Model Railroa

This model RR was on display at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio from about 1981 to 1991. It was built by the Columbus (Ohio) Area N Scalers (CANS) to promote model railroading to the public. The Ohio State Fair draws almost a million people every August making it one of the largest in the country, so this model railroad was seen by many, many folks.

The CANS members are in the process of building a new model railroad so this is officially known as the Old CANS Layout. It’s now in Mike Ippoliti’s basement, a longtime CANS member, great modeler and very patient tree-maker.
